As the vet propaganda fool he is the tortured soul, haunted by his experiences (perhaps he got a freon burn). His legitimacy is proven by not talking about Vietnam. Of course if he did talk about Vietnam his shit would unravel and he would be known an immediate fraud and there goes the chance for sympathy dental work from

The left wants people that love America enough to fight for it to be perceived as victims and it uses examples of "the victims" injured psyche to shut up others willing to speak of the truths they witnessed over seas.
We are conditioned now to believe every VN vet a damaged soul that parrots "I cant talk about that". That statement is bigger validation of their service than the empty ribbon bar.
It happens today also.
Just about every new vet I meet has stories of the class instructing how to play for a VA percentage or I meet guys that are collecting checks because their irregularity or runny stools are "service related from deployment".
I think vets need to resist their "victimization" because its a means to "hook" you into dependence on .gov.
Society as a whole needs more sack and the vets being generally the only ones that have tried to develop theirs can lead the way by showing they went through a crucible and came out hardened.
Thats not denying trauma doesnt exist. Its there......but its saying "Yeah I went through some shit that ruins my sleep at times or can be hard to put in the back of the memory hole but even still when the slightest adversity turns average Joe into a weeping puddle I can carry on".
Perhaps more vets need to actually talk of their wars and the horrors so that simply saying "I cant talk of that" can't be used as validation of service.
40 years ago a good many of the population were WWII vets or at least had done two years of service and knew what it was like to crawl on their belly with a rifle even if it was only training.
I think the left wanted to shut Vets up because they saw how WWI and WWII vets were idolized. Their talks and Gung Ho movies made motivated kids to want to fight for America.
The Korea and VN guys had to be shut up because their telling the truth of what our Communists enemies were like was counter to the Jane Fonda propaganda. Kind of tough to think of "Kind Uncle Ho" knowing he filled a pit with innocent people in Hue. The movies became dark and spoke not of enemy attrocity but showed the Americans as the bad guy most often.
After WWII we as a country no longer became interested in winning wars so to just about everyone other than thise involved there is either no connection or just bafflement at why the vet put himself in such danger.
Just sayin.....my belief is vets are not damaged, they are more capable, and they need to be more vocal and resist the idea they can not speak of their experiences. Let the truth out. Today not only the left wants to shut you up but our establishment govt wants to silence you on their malfeasance in the prosecution of our latest wars.

What a bastardization of the American Indian culture most of whom made their tribes history on warring and raiding other indian cultures.
Their lands were not "taken". They suffered the same fate they imposed upon their neighboring tribes when they could - a dominant culture superseded a less dominant culture.
The real shame of what happened to them is that not only were their lands taken but they have been forced into an effeminate false mold caricature totally opposite of who they used to be.
Rather than accept the false narrative of the indian at one with nature living in peace show the new cultures the truth......They lived a subsistence existence, fighting daily for food and their people and that struggle created a hard as steel people that for the most part took no shit.
They didnt use every piece of a deer because it was the way of nature - they did so out of necessity. On the plains it has been shown they didnt just kill what was needed as conservators of the environment - given the right geography they would drive whole herds of buffalo off a cliff - killing beyond their needs - because it was easier hunting than get knocked off a horse at full speed trying to put a single animal down with an arrow.
Indians supporting the left is the definition of useful idiot. As I drove through the Crow reservation a few years a go - a time when Obam was trying to bring 10,000 Syrians in a month or some shit like that I was wondering "Why arent these people pissed that our govt wants to give all kinds of money creating new dependency yet these Crow Indians cant even get a paved road?"
The govts investment on dependency has worked out well in the case of the American Indian. I dont think the average Induan believes the narrative the left has painted for them but with Chief AbscessTooth being promoted as the "every indian" the technologically advanced, yet critical thinking deficient, dominant culture is too stupid to believe otherwise.
Neither Vets nor Indians should allow this BS by the left.
