Lifes ups and downs

Well tonight it looks like my Dog of 9 + years is going to be put down in the am.

I have a little girl under 10 years old, and this will be her first facing of death.

My wife is all jacked up.

I find my situation to be as always. I guess situations of a persons past gives you different outlooks

Most difficult thing I have done in my life.
I am so sorry. I can try and tell you it will get better but sometimes it still just really gets to me. We have a new pup now and it does make things happier in the house.

I had to put mine down a while ago also. I knew I would have to for about a month. It sucks. Got in a huge fight with the wife that weekend because she needed another dog to fill the hole and wanted one right away. I gave in and I have to say it helped us a lot. I still had my moments but having another dog in the house was the right thing to do for us. She was right again. I watched this video from Cowboy Poet Baxter Black a few times after I put Cody down. Seemed to help a bit. Hang tight John.

Sorry to hear that.We had to put our dog down 2 days ago.She was 16 yrs old,she had a good long life and will be missed for a long time.

Again sorry for your loss.Got up this morning and my son,s dog of 17 yrs past in the night.2 in the same week.

Hard thing losing a dog, they become members of the family. Replace it right away. No it will not replace the lost one but will become a member of the family.
I know from experience.

Losing a pet that way sucks enormously in its own right - but adding the heartbreak of a small child to the experience is nothing I'm in any hurry to EVER face. Sorry man...

I'm sorry your having to go through this. Give your little one a hug and tell her the truth. Don't hide it from her, you may regret it later. Get her another puppy if you can, it'll help ease the pain for all of you. Good luck, this stuff always sucks.

It always sucks to lose a family member, dogs to me are harder than people because they only want so little of our love but give so much more, I'm sorry for your family sir.
