I don't typically post asking for opinions on optics because alot of it comes down to user preferance. However, I just want to put this out there mainly to see if I'm overlooking any options.

Ive built up a nice lightweight rifle consisting of the following:

    6.5x47L on a Defiance action
ABS wrapped Saturn liner barrel @ 24"
MCS-T5A with 90% carbon fiber shell

This is going to be primarily a long(er) range hunting rifle, but I'd like to stay with a Mil/Mil setup to keep everything consistant with all my other optics. I want to be in the 5-20x magnification range, but still stay as light as possible. Normally I'd just buy another 5.5-22 NSX Mil/Mil like all my other scopes, but at 32oz its a on the heavy side. Ive looked around at several different options, Bushnell, Burris, and Vortex, the Viper PST 6-24x50 seems to be the lightest I've found at 23oz and still keeping the mil/mil and tacticle turrets.

So, with cost not being a factor, are there any lighter options that I've overlooked? I'm kinda on the unsure side about venturing away from what I know is good/quality and has worked for me flawlessly (NF), but ive tried to go as light as possible with this rifle so far and I don't want to change course now.

***My reason behind wanting to stay mil/mil & Tacticle with the optic is: 1.) Consistancy with my other optics. 2). I don't want to segregate this rifle to be a "hunting only" gun. I'd like to still be able to shoot it at comps if I needed to/wanted to as a backup rifle or a rifle for my wife to use. I hate swapping scopes from one rifle to the next back and forth, so that isnt a option for me.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Yep - the March Tactical 2.5-25x42 is a very sleek & fairly lightweight scope. The glass is VERY nice too!!!

The March shows to be 1oz lighter than the PST, but a significantly higher price. As I said, cost really isnt a issue, but a 1oz savings in weight at ~ 3x's the cost of the PST? I don't know much about march optics, only what I've read. I haven't owned a PST either, so I can't say either way.

    Premier Lite Tac?

With the A5 Edge fill, my rig is under 11 lbs. With stock pack, loaded mag & Atlas bipod attached, right around 12.3 lbs...

I bought the NF-F1 mainly because of it's weight and size. My other choice would have been the March 3-24 FFP. Still tempted to get one but I like Horus reticles too much. If you shoot past 1000Y often you'll appreciate the 10 mil knobs on both scopes.

Knockemdown is on the money. It's not quite the power you are used with the nxs, but I'm betting the glass quality will make up for that some. They have several in stock at gene sears. Go by and check them out. And it's only a couple hundred more than a high speed zero stop nxs with WAY better glass.
