I am looking to know the average focus distance of the lower than 8 power ratings on a scope, I know it will vary slightley.... I am just looking for the average.....

for example 2 power I can focus in on a ground hog at 12 feet.

8.5 power is 30 feet ( these are just B.S. examples I threw out there.)

Re: list of power ratings to minimum focus

In general (at least the S&B 1-8x is different but I don't know of any others) the focus range of the scope does not depend on what power it is set to. Most scopes that do not have adjustable parallax are set to 100 yards though some are less and a few more. The fact that as you lower power you are able to focus on targets that are closer is not related to the scope actually changing focal distance. This is related to the greater ability of your eye to compensate for the fact that the target is not in focus as the magnification of this problem decreases. This compensation is greatly dependent on your individual eyes. No on else will be able to provide you a useful answer to your question. Also, you will note that as you employ this power of your visual system for extended periods of time you will experience eyestrain.
