Lithgow Woomera Caliber Advice

Hey guys, looking at purchasing a new long range rifle & love the looks of the Lithgow Woomera which comes in 6.5 or .308. I had my mind made up on getting one in 6.5 Creedmoor until I realised how savage it is on barrel life compared to .308. The range I use is only 550 yards long & from what I can gather both calibers are very similar out to around 500-600 yards however I would be roughly doubling the life of the barrel if I chose the .308 . Is is there any reason going with the .308 would be a bad move for my intended purpose? Thanks.

At that distance you are probably making the right decision. You will have more recoil but barrel life will definitely be an advantage with 308.

Thanks for the reply mate. After doing more research Im definitely now leaning more toward the .308
