It could be darn close, I just measured my 5-25 TPal and I got approx 2.922 fron front of erector housing to where the EREK hangs over the back of the erector housing a tad.

I am really struggling with the TPAL/ERGO choice for this exact reason.

Personally I prefer Ergo to TPal-more forgiving range of focus. My Ergo I can set for say 200yds and shoot 200-700 fine without touching it, where the TPal, like most side focuses, has to be reset for smaller distance differences.

Thanks for the info sobrbiker. I was not aware of the practical difference, I was only considering the mounting options.
