LMT Enhanced Bolt Carrier ??

Re: LMT Enhanced Bolt Carrier ??

who has had a problem with a bolt carrier? honestly? not to say there isn't some advantage to it but the upgraded bolt i see a use for but the carrier, eh. the only thing i see as a advantage is chrome simply for ease of cleaning. i've NEVER seen a bolt carrier fail, and i've seen hundreds of dudes shoot THOUSANDS or rounds. not to say it can't happen but a good standard bolt carrier should not give you any problems hard use or otherwise.

Re: LMT Enhanced Bolt Carrier ??

not specifically in your description, but my new LMT piston upper with a FA bcg launched an ejector in the first 6 rounds.

they were fairly timely with the swap/repair.

just food for thought, as I am not in the know of what the diff. would be for the make-up of a EBCG vs FAuto vs STD.

Re: LMT Enhanced Bolt Carrier ??

If your carbine is overgassed then the LMT enchanced carrier can reduce that a bit. Most 16" ARs with a carbine gas port location (and in many cases an oversized port) fit this description.

Whether or not it is worth the $$$ is up to you.

Re: LMT Enhanced Bolt Carrier ??

I have a LMT enhanced bolt, but not the carrier. This particular AR shoots 1/4 moa with factory ammo. Is that the bolts fault, not sure. It does have some neat features (dual extractor springs, fully supported bolt face, and nickel plated)!!! I don't think it's worth the extra $$$ for the carrier, but the bolt...absolutely :)

I like the bolt too, which puts us in the minority. Most people shy away from it because of the proprietary extractor and springs. The carrier though has really been embraced by people who shoot suppressed as a means to help deal with the extra gas.
