LMT LM8

I'm planning to buy an LMT 308 in the near future. Is the LM8 slick side worth the wait, or should I stick with the original MWS. How much weight is really saved by eliminating the rails?

Per Combat Arms Magazine:

LM8MRP is 3.5 oz lighter than the CQB MRP
LM8MWS is 6 oz lighter than than the MWS.

The big deal for those with smaller hands is the LM8MWS rail is 2" smaller in circumference than the MWS.
