I shot some reloads I made up.
BHA Brass

Varget Powder and vertical spread
42.5g 1st .79" 2nd .70"
43g. 1st 1.60"
43.5g 1st .17" 2nd 1.09"
44g. 1st .87" 2nd .75"
45.5g 1st 1.65" 2nd .8"

Black hills 168 smk 1st .80" 2nd 1.8"

All groups are 5 shot groups at 225yrds, shot prone of bipod. I have sized groups without the flyers. I'm obviously not an expert shooter but I know how to call the shots and flyers. I started with a few factory loads of 168 smk. Then worked my way from 42.5 to 44.5. After 43.5 the groups opened up vertically. I really like the 43.5 groups. Any suggestions for future loads? Would you guys call it a day at 43.5? Ill take any suggestions. There are some pics labeled below.

Looks like charges over 43.5gr are starting to enter a scatter node. I bet you could find a really nice load somewhere near 43.0gr seeing how tight the vertical is at 42.5gr and 43.5gr, along with the location of the scatter node. I'd load 10 rounds each at 42.6, 42.8, 43.0, 43.2, and 43.4gr and see how they group.

I also have to say, that's a beautiful rifle. Has serious potential, too, looking at those targets.

I've found marks rifles shoot about anything well.

The 43.5 looks good. I'd load 1000 of them and then consider retuning the load once you've shot them.

Temp9 ....... I'm going to try that next time I'm out. The rifle is a shooter no doubt. I'm pretty happy with the 225yd results


Turbo54 .... I have a 1000 bullets and brass ready to go I just want to make sure I'm in the right node.

Try shooting 43.3, verify 43.5, and 43.7. see which of the 3 is more accurate.
