Best I could get out of mine was MOA. roughtly. This was with MilSurp ammo. South African I believe. Well within minute of Deer but I was looking for something more so I sold it. The JAE II stock help alot I'm told.

Any M1A/M14 that will hold MOA is a keeper (5-shot). Some will shoot better than that but, not many.

Around 1 MOA; but a dependable 1 MOA.
I owned the 'Loaded' M1A with the stainless barrel, and with a scope and handloads, could manage just under 1MOA at 300yd. I sold it to make some mortgage payments. Wasn't an easy choice. I'd love to have one chambered in .260 Rem, but that's just a pipe dream.
I carried the M14 for 13 months in 'Nam, and it got me home intact.

I have the Loaded with the carbon barrel, and with GI ammo it will keep around MOA if I do my part. Knock on wood.....it has been a great gun so far with no problems. I got it back around 2000 I believe. Any M1A is just plain badass in my book.

I've got a Standard M1A that I have a Leupold Mk2 3-9x40 on it and have it installed in a Sage EBR Chassis. I love the rifle, great balance, good accuracy, fun to shoot. I haven't been able to try it for accuracy with the Chassis installed but I was getting MOA with Winchester 150 soft points when I had the the factory stock. My wife's is a Loaded with carbon barrel and her's is slightly better at 100 then mine was. Both will shoot a milk jug at 300 though (my brothers shooting) so therefore I know it'll get a Pronghorn, Elk or Deer.
I've got some 168 grain Prvi Partizan that I'm going to try out. The M1A's are just superb guns all around. The loadeds give you the heavier barrel potential vs. the standards. As long as you stick to your fundamentals it will shoot.

this is from when I took my M1A out to see which ammo it liked the best,. 168 A-max was the clear winner (168 Priv match is the top right) I think it was 7 or 8 diffrent ammo types, I am planning to shoot 5 & 10 round groups sometime soon when I get the time.

ETA: this was shot from a bench with a set of shooting bags,. About 20 to 30 seconds between each shot as I reset my position,. I made sure to watch the wind and concentrate on my basics.
