Hello,

I'm still fairly new to reloading and I want to load some 168 and 175 smk for the Jp Lrp07 in .308. Do any of you have some load data I can start from for a 18'' barrel? I did some research and with a 168, I'm under the assumption that I should start with 42gr of powder and work up to 44.5grs. With the 175, I'm assuming that I should start at 41gr and work up from there?

Should I pick a starting charge weight and go up in .3gr increments or .5gr? Should I load/shoot 3 or 5 shot groups to gather data at 100 yards?

Any suggestions would be great.

The components that I have available are:

LC match brass and Winchester brass (trimmed to 2.005) --> I could change to 2.000 if that's better
Win. LR primers
168 and 175 SMK --> I also have 155 palma projectiles
Varget, IMR4064, and xbr8208 are my available powders to use for now

Thanks.

I took a look at those articles. Very interesting info on how to find a node due to the vertical stringing. I would have picked the group that was the smallest. I learn something new everyday.

Although, I am still waiting to hear back from some members to see if they have developed a load already.
