Lock Nut for Dillon 1500 Trimmer

Before I start in tapping the weird upper lock ring so that I can set and forget trim length on various dies, does anybody have a better off the shelf solution for setting trim length? I can't say I've ever seen another anything in that thread pitch.

Oh God, this fuckstain again.......

I bought set screws from McMaster Carr or similiar and did the drill/tap of the Dillon product rings.

Works great.

I could never get consistent square trims out of my Dillon trimmer, was super bummed.
