In Australia we shoot Long Range F-Class. This is a bit different from normal F-Class in that it starts where normal F-Class ends.

We shoot at three distances. 1000 yards, 1100 yards and 1200 yards. Matches are normally 15 shots with three sighters or 20 shots with three sighters on the first day then two sighters for any other day shot.

Most comps end with a 20 shot match at 1200 yards.

Last week we even had a 1500 yard comp which was a lot of fun! The 7mm SAUM's etc do very well at this distance.

I was wondering if a similar form of Long Range F-Class exists anywhere else?

The GB F class league also has a long range day held at Bisley. Like you it's shot over 1000, 1100 and 1200 yards.

Here in the UK, there have been some Match Rifle comps at Bisley with F & FTR classes included, so I've shot my F/TR rifle 1100 and 1200yds with good results, but usually we're on a standard NRA(UK) long range target with a 24"Bull and 12.4" V Bull, so in good conditions it's not really such a big challenge.

However, we did shoot a match a few weeks ago back to 1100 using 1000yd F targets and in the Imperial Meeting we can shoot F-Class in some of the MR comps, presumably using F targets and that will be back to 1200.

Personally, I'd welcome more of these matches it as it's another challenge, but unless we get more F-class shooters entering the MR matches over here, it probably won't take off.

Thanks for the reply’s.
Seems like there are some shoots in the UK but nothing at this distance in the USA.

At Coonabarabran in Australia they are putting in a 1 mile mound. This will enable long range F-Class events at the one rifle range of 1000, 1100, 1200, 1500 and the mile.
This is possibly going to be offered as an international competition.

Would anyone be interested in coming down under for such a competition?
