This is my first post so please be kind! Can anyone offer thoughts on the Vortex Viper scopes? I'm putting together a .338 Lapua and don't have an unlimited budget but can make adjustments if needed. Thanks in advance.

Not that the viper's are not good but for something to be put on a .338 lapua i would go a bit higher in the price range. If your not looking to go "all out" on your scope. At least take a look at the Viper PSTs, Leupold mark 4s, and Nightforce NXS SFP. That is unless you want FFP which is going to run you 1300+ for MK 4 and NXS in FFP. The PSTs are 900-950$ for FFP and in the 600 range for SFP.
NXS F1 is $2000+..... The regular SFP 3.5-15x50mm NXS on up to the 5.5-22x50mm will do just as well $1350-$1900 depending on if you want the Zero Stop and Hi-Speed Turrets.
You need to figure out what best suits your personal needs.....but there's always that saying..."Buy once, Cry once"....might as well spend the cheese on glass that worth it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I've done it with cars to lawn mowers and should know better than to try to get by on this purchase. I'll give Jay a try. Appreciate the advice.
