Looking for a rangefinder to get me out to 1k at least... for a good price. Any input is appreciated. I have some spare money right now and I have been milling known size targets and it works OK for me but a range finder would be nice sometimes.

I just purchased a bushnell 1600 Pin Seeker. It doesn't have all the crap in the view finder, just the reticle and the yardage.
I will do a review in a few days when I get more time, but so far...
Reflective: 1596: metal shop
1132: pickup
840: old hog feeder
Steel targets 9" and smaller from 670 to 150 , my 985 target is under a snow drift!
NON-Reflective:
Early Morning: Hillside bare 1 at 1032 the other at 1148
In full sun:
1040: Lone tree - no leaves
924: large rocks on a hill side
742: wood fence post
700: large bare spot on a hillside
Cows to 625
Sage brush to 630
All of this was in the middle of the day with the sun at my back.
I will try it in varied light conditions this weekend, but so far I am VERY pleased with the results.
I really like the fact that there are not lots of damn menus and visible options in the view finder. IT is SIMPLE!!

I was actually just looking at that. It's for golfing? I was also looking at that new bushinell spotting scope seems like something that would be money well spent... I can do alright with mils but jeeze LRF are so much easier

I have a Elite 1500 that works very well. I have ranged well over 1200 yards with it.

From what I've read, the bushnell elite 1500 is one of the better range finders for under $500, so I started looking and just got one off of ebay for well under half that. I live in the city, so I've only had a chance to range buildings and stuff like that, nothing past 800 yards yet. Taking it out to my friends hunting club this weekend to see what it can do.

Swaro is super nice, long range and SWEET glass
Leica/Bushnell 1500 Elite tie
The Leica had better glass to me, but the Bushnell ranged further. That said I picked up a NIB Elite with ARC off Ebay for about $300.
