I have some funds available and want purchase a new rifle. I am at the point of having to make a decision based on the availability of current / future ammo and reloading supplies.
Currently I have a couple of 308 rifles and a 6.5 PRC.
I am looking either a 30 cal. or 338 cal. magnum. Mainly long range target shooting. Finally moving to free state and I will have access to a much larger selections of ranges.
I started my search based on brass and ammo availability. 30 Nosler, 33 Nosler, 300 Norma, 300 WM, 338 LM - all of these seem to have a healthy source for ammo and brass. Powder and primers are a different story, but that is going to be the same with everything. I know there are smaller calibers that would work for long range target shooting, but I've had an itch for a magnum rifle for quite some time. I'm finally in a spot financially to make it happen.
I like the 300 PRC but I can't find ammo or brass...anywhere. I know there are some smart people on this site and hopefully you all will share some of you thoughts, insight and wisdom.
Thanks in advance
