Have a M1A from Springfield Armory in 7.62 x 51 with a SA Scope adapter, bought it new in 2009 have put less than 200 rounds through it . Looking to mount a Leupold VX-3i LRP 4.5-14x50mm Riflescope #172339 on it.
Mainly target shoot at 100, 200 and 600 yds. Looking to spend around $1K for the setup. Would like it to be similar to a military sniper (w/o spending $15K)
- Is this the correct scope
- The 172339 is a MOA reticle, OK for target shooting
- One of the one line shooting supply companies has it for about $200 less, any issues.
- Recommendations on mounting rings/height
- One of the vendors offers a $100 scope mounting kit (is this necessary)?
