Looking for input on 4500 w/AB vs 5700 w/AB

Reading up on Kestrels with AB. Currently use AB on my phone and am trying to learn to read wind better.

Wanting a weather meter to help validate and decided to go with an AB unit for quicker solutions in a hunting scenario vs getting a basic weather meter and plugging data into my phone app.

I know the 4500 is discontinued, so info is limited. For those who've upgraded to the 5700 Elite...what am i gaining/losing over a used 4500 w/AB...as in are the basic functions and inputs the same?

Seems to be about $250-290 for a used 4500 and maybe $375 or so I've seen for a few 5700s used. Curious if for someone novice, not shooting out to a mile or anything, would the 4500 suffice?

I have had both. Get the 5700, in my opinion it is much faster, easier to read, and the battery and battery compartment are a much better design. With the 4500 if someone used the wrong battery it can cause issues from battery leakage.

I'm in the same boat you are, most likely going 5700 AB & Link since i already run the app. I believe you can have up to 10 guns on the 5700 and the main reason I'm looking at it.

I've had a 4500NV w/AB for several years. Got it used from a Hide Member probably 4 years ago. Still dead nuts as long as I input the right info. I want a Elite w/AB but this thing is still doing everything I need.

If you're just getting one, go with the newer one. There's current software/upgrade support, etc.

I keep missing them for sale on here, but I think I will hold out for a used 5700 after everyone's inputs.
