Back in December was at the SOT I ordered my cans through, and I managed to find a brand new in box (literally collecting dust) 200th Anniversary (2016 model) R700 Magpul .260 Rem with the 22" 5R 1:8 twist barrel, that they had even forgotten that they had in stock. So far, it's showing some real promise, even with the crudest load development stages I've tested. So far I've only tested max load, so it's only had 25 rounds through it (5 sets of 5). And it's shooting under 1" at 100 with just those random experimental loads to find my safe max powder charge. So, once I really dial it in, I expect it to be a 1/2 MOA or better rifle. I should be able to get it under 1/2 MOA without any real work. I have faith, given my 2 other 5R 700 riffles and the amazing accuracy they produce.
I've had my 2 other Gen1 5R Milspec 700 rifles (24" .308 Win / 26" .300 WinMag) starting back around 2011, and they both shoot amazing. They typically shoot around, or under, 1/4 MOA with the right loads and right conditions, and if I do my part. So I'm expect good things with the .260 as well.
Back in 2011 when I bought my 5R .308 Win, I think I paid around $1000 OTD. I paid $1100 OTD for the .300 WM back in 2014. And I paid $900 OTD for my 700 Magpul .260 back in December, if you need a reference.
And being that you can't find a Rem 700 right now for a decent price (I've heard of basic ADL's going for $750...

), I'd say $1,350 ain't too bad. Then again, anything under MSRP is good right now, given the times we are in.
The only thing you'll need to buy for the gun ASAP (other than your optics setup, obviously) is a new trigger. The X-Mark Pro triggers are absolute junk and should be removed from every gun immediately and replaced with something of some actual quality that deserves to be on a R700.
