Looking for recommendations for a inexpensive scope for a rem 700 7mm rem magnum that can take the abuse the 7mm dishes out. The scope I have on it a Bushnell trophy extreme x30 2.5-15x50 doa lr600i wasn't up to the task. 1/4" per click@100 yds became 4"

Read this first post, do some homework, then ask this in the optics section.

As for your Bushnell not tracking, make sure your base, rings, etc. are torqued properly and of good quality. The cartridge is not generating that much recoil. Sure its more than a non-magnum, but not enough to damage an average optic.

The SWFA SS 6X and 10X are pretty indestructible and inexpensive @ $199 ea for Black Friday Sale until 12/8.

The 6X makes a better hunting scope vs the 10X with its wider field of view. I have a 6X on my 7RM Sendero and happy with it for whitetail/elk hunting. The 10X would suit you better for varmints or paper punching where you are prone or using a stationary rest.

I assume your after a hunting scope. I've run Leupolds for decades. The VX-II is a $300 scope. I use 2X7 and cheaper yet are 3X9's. They are Ford Tough! I've had them out at -20 degrees F bouncing around on a snow machine in a saddle scabbard. Never has lost zero. Bring them back into the house from -20 and no internal fogging. I've had them out in the rain for weeks at a time, with no internal fogging. Gotta live with 1/2 MOA adjustments, and no clicks, but what does that matter on a hunting scope? Once it's zeroed, it's zeroed. Hold off for wind. If you have to dial up on a 7MM Mag with a 300 yard zero, Don't shoot.

3-15 SWFA is 399.00 till midnight tomorrow. It's a great buy at that price point. It will track the glass isn't horrible and they stand behind them of you have an issue which is unlikely

You assume correctly, Leupold is the front runner for me at the moment. But I was Hoping to find a 3-15 or a 4 -16 from a reliable manufacturer better than Bushnell
