Ok so far i have a mcmillian htg stock and a remington 700 action with a remington 700 barrel. I would like to find someone to put in a custom barrel and have the action trued. I do not have a barrel, So they advise me on a maker. Could anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Re: Looking for someone to do custom work

Top level barrels are all going to shoot very well. If your chosen gunsmith has a relationship with a certain maker then follow their lead as it won't be wrong.

Bartlein, Brux, Krieger, Hart, etc are great. I like Shilen's personally and own a number of them. I've also woked with Douglas, Hart and Krieger. I get the best prices on Shilens and I haven't had one yet that won't shoot, so that's my suggestion.

I wouldn't hesitate to mail the rifle somewhere, one of the top quality gunsmiths on this forum will treat you well. I think GAP is not accepting orders right now, which is a testament to their work. Joplin Arms, LA Precision (wnroscoe), Robert Gradous, all of them build rifles to be envious of.

Suarez tactical rifles has them in stock and built my rifle in about a month... Not saying you'll get yours that quick but I did.
