I need a hand picking out a stock. I'm going to be using a Krieger #10 (straight blank) barrel, on a Remington 700. The problem I have is, how do I looking up to see what channel is already on the stock, and can it be "taken out" to accommodate the blank barrel. I've seen plenty of "Sporters, and Varmint" in trying to select a stock. But what is the name of what I am looking for? I've seen McMillan stocks, that will actually state that they are made with a channel for a 1.25 blank barrel. I am also wondering if I'm going to have to go with something that is specially made for that barrel.

Dave.

If you're buying from the manufacturer or a website there should be dimensions for barrel diameter. Measure your barrel and compare.

Best bet however is to call McMillan or Manners, whatever you decide to go with and they'll hook you up. The guys at McMillan helped me out a lot.
