My dad is looking into getting a Remington 70 7mm mag for hunting, and wanted to know what people thought about it. Please skip all the "this is tactical, not hunting" garbage. I tried looking up some reviews, but came up with nothing. Does anyone have any experience with these rifles, or know anyone who has? Looking for both the good and the bad. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

A Model 70 Remington?

Those are a little scarce..... Just kidding, a 700 Remington in 7mm Rem Mag is a great hunting rifle if you need and can handle it. A lightweight 7mm Rem Mag can get a little tiring to shoot sighting it in and practicing with it. A 308, 30-06, 270, etc will kill pretty much anything that walks in North America and they're cheaper to shoot and kick less.

My all around hunting rig is a Remington 700 synthetic stock in 7mmRM with a Leupold on top. It's a nice, light rifle that will give you excellent range and downrange energy. Mine is about a 3/4MOA rifle, which for my purposes is all I'm looking for. The only drawback is that if you're recoil shy, this rifle will make you flinch a bit because it's so light. Great gun for the money.
