Looks like someone stole one of my ideas - Sounds pretty badass

A little bit of context. I haven't looked into it much yet, I just found it, but on the surface it looks like we've got:

Users fill out surveys, they don't discuss their positions.
Important issues are determined by the survey results.
Things with 2/3s or better support get proactively championed in capital buildings across the country.

Seems like a great idea.

At CommonSense American, we never take a position on a policy unless we have two-thirds or more majority support.

This is where we have a problem. Some policy positions, like those espoused in the Bill of Rights and the concept of a narrow, strict interpretation of the Constitution, are too important to leave to a popularity contest.

Fuck that place. I don't give a shit about anything > 2/3 of people think it's a good idea if it's repugnant to the original intent and meaning of the Constitution, as amended. Conversely, not championing certain policies just because they don't have "broad support" is a chickenshit cop out.

All very true arguments. The technology seems promising, though. Definitely something I intend to explore more.
