Hunting & Fishing Loop to Loop Fly to Mono

Any tips for tying plain mono to fly line with a loop? If just using 12# mono, will the small dia mono cut the fly line? I can tie a perfection knot in the mono that will increase the bearing surface between the two lines, I assume that helps??? I'd really like to be able to quickly swap out leaders for different weight flies, so want to keep the loop to loop attachment. Thanks.

I like the loop to loop attachment, just use a handshake knot. If you are worried about cutting into the flyline the handshake should prevent this.If you wear out the factory loop end cut if off and use a no knot barbed connector Cabelas, Bass Pro , or on line there cheap and work well I have used them on 6wt and less lines , for fish up to 12 pounds. i found some chinese handcuff looking things some years back that were really slick. easy to put on and never let go. about as aerodynamic as you are going to get.

Nail knot a section of mono to fly line then tie perfection knot at end of mono,then you can use looped leaders in a loop to loop.
Just an old guide trick....

Im sorry I thought you had the loop on the flyline from the factory ie. Rio, Scientific angler, if you don't then the nail knot is the way to go.
