I am a new member and totally new to rifles
Live in this wonderful state of NY and to make matters worse live on Long Island and can only discharge rifles on a range!!!
after 3 year wait Got in to my local gun club with my 14 ear old son Yahoo!!!!!!
so off to the races
have bought 4 .22LR to shoot indoor at the pistol range

a BAR 30-06 grade II NIB ( friend needed $$ for Xmas)

so after all that BS i want to get in to AR's
what do you guys recommend?
Are the JP'S as good as they look and ................priced?

JP rifles are good but they're geared more toward 3-gunners. What you need to establish first is how much you're willing to spend. What kind of budget do you have in mind for the rifle and what budget do you have for the optic?

It would also be good to know what your going to do with it. Home Defense? Got a place to hunt? Long distance shooting? Stuck shooting it in doors? That being said, Palmetto State Armory has a nice deal for $999 with an Aimpoint included. RRA, Spikes, S&W make decenty priced guns. Want to go top shelf? LWRC, POF, Noveske, KAC. Also, please consider that if shooting indoors a muzzle break is probably not a good idea.. it's painfully loud.

As Killshot pointed out, JP is big in the 3-Gun and competition shooting world. They also market a couple models designed for duty use, but they're still basically 3-Gun setups.
Their rifles are accurate, but heavy and expensive. I think that there are better ways to spend $2000-$3000.
