I want to put together a hunting and general purpose gun. Factory ammo. Local range out to 600 yards, 2 miles from home. Also mule deer, blacktail and bear in PNW. Want to run one of the lightweight folding stock chassis like an XLR atom. Budget is $1600 ish for barreled action, chassis. I have optics, bipod for it already. 308 for ammo selection and avail, functional hunting round, barrel life.

If I can snag a BA on exchange and order the chassis, I think I can make the budget work.

I was thinking I could snag a used bergara premier, rem 700 footprint makes it easy enough for the chassis selection.

But maybe I'm in the budget range for a build on an origin or something similar. Not sure if that's of much benefit to me?

Open to any thoughts or feedback. Not interested in caliber change tho.

you look at a Tikka? Granted, the folding stock thing tosses in extra $$.
A1 has a folder,, but it falls out of your budget. (used one maybe?)
