HI
I’ve been loading some 6.5 Creedmoor with srp brass and have been getting low velocities even at max load.
Peterson Brass SRP
CCI BR4
140gr SMK
Accurate 4350 (41.8gr)
Averaging only 2205fps
Have anyone encountered similar results?
Will LRP Brass be better?

Accurate 4350 sucks for the 6.5 creed it is nowhere near H4350, but 2205 does seem very slow.

In a 25" barrel 140 Hornady ELD, Lapua Case, CCI 450, 42.5 Accurate 4350 = 2700 FPS

Chronograph factory loads & chrono read same or very close to box claims.
A4350 is what’s available to me, we can’t mail order powders/primers where I live.

Remington 700 20” barrel.

When I used A4350 I loaded 43.5 in a Hornady case with 140's. Out of a 23" Criterion barrel I got just over 2600fps. That powder tolerates being compressed fairly well in 6.5 Creedmoor.

our gun using acurate 4350 we went up to 43.6gr speeds max 2725 min 2683 an average of 2706 sd if 16,5 so yea bit really great speeds I ended up going with a 43.0gr only got max of 2665 min of 2650 average of 2656 and sd of 5,6 it shot slow but it did shoot nice agreed there are many other powders that could get you far better numbers 4451 was real nice rl 17 , h 100v are my favorites then h 4350 and imr 4350 , stay bal 6.5 accurate 4350 and n555 are at my bottom for powders unless they are all I can get .best of luck finding what you like and getting enough of it to last a while .

Correction 22” barrel

The problem is that the A4350 powder is bulky and you need compressed loads to get you anywhere
near the faster powders and compressed powder loads will cause seating depth variations.

What crono are you using?
If you are shooting factory ammo and the velocity numbers seem to be correct confirming the crono I would
switch to large primers and check your neck tension.

That velocity just does not seem correct.

Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX, used some factory ammo & chrono fine. I’ll try some LRP and see.

41.9 of H4350, BR2, in Hornady brass with Berger 140 HT out of a 26" Proof SS MTU.....2853 fps (yeah, its a fast barrel so take 50 fps off perhaps for normal...still, no where near 2205)

Remember too guys, that Peterson brass has less internal volume than Hornydaddy. At minimum, he’ll need to use a drop tube and then maybe even vibrate them to get the fill he needs. Pressure issues to be acknowledged.

Have you fired anything else across the chrono to rule out a possible issue with it?

2205 seems really slow.

https://www.65creedmoor.com/index.php?topic=5733.0 at 42.2 this guy is claiming mid 2700's.

https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/accurate-4350-just-as-good-as-h4350.7059444/ 2710 is mentioned here but no charge weight.

I have Shot 130's with IMR4350, very similar to Accurate. Did not chrono them but using Hornady DOF4 was in mid 2800's according to my drops. Shot out to 1030Yards.

Yes I shot some factory 140gr and chronograph read what they claimed or very close to what’s on the boxes.

Another thought that came to mind. Have you checked your scale to verify that it is accurate? According to the Hodgdon site 39.2 grs should be around 2,446 feet/sec out of a 24" barrel so you are really slow if you are truly loading 41.8 grains. They are listing 43.5 grains as max load.

Check the lot number with Accurate, there was a recall on 4350 powder awhile back. The powder was breaking down in the container creating issues.

If you can find it, Superformance provides the highest velocities in the 6.5.

As mentioned check your scale. If you don’t already have a set of check weights, the price will shock you but well worth the cash.
