I found a good load for my 308 but it seems slow to me. The rifle is a remington 700 sps tactical 20inch barrel 1 in 10 twist. My load was 44.4 grains of varget hornady 168 eld cci 200 primer. 10 rounds over the magnetospeed averaged 2612 and sd 6. Its shooting really good for a factory barrel right around 1/2 moa. It just seems slow maybe I'm wrong what velocities are guys getting out of 20inch 308s. Thanks

I think that sounds pretty good. The Federal Gold Mstal Match ammo with the 168 grain bullet is spec'd at 2650 fps out of a 24"barrel. I usually figure 25 fps per inch of barrel so your load is doing well

20" gasser, 2600fps avg. 20" bolt gun, likes em a little faster most times. At least, that's how mine like it

I cant remember my 168 load but it was over 45gr in winchester brass, if you want more speed you might try to find the higher node. If it was me I would leave it alone and shoot the shit out of it with the sd you are getting.

If you want more speed and dialing less MOA's out of your 20" .308 shoot a 155 grain bullet. I shoot Lapua 155 Scenars out of my 20" Rock 5R GAP gas gun at 2800 fps. It is a hot load. I shoot it out to 1200 yards on a regular basis. Scary accurate.

Thanks guys well then I guess I'm in the ballpark velocity wise. Any suggestions on different powders or loads if I decide to try to speed it up. I thought about trying Mr 2000 anyone have any load date for it.

I'm getting 2600 with 42gr of Varget and hornady match 168. Have a shit ton of 4064 and Sierra 168gr I'll be working up next
