I had my Savage apart and replaced the acu trigger with a rifle basics. I have run the gun with a little oil on the sear with out any problems and its been in some dirty places before.

I was adjusting the rifle basics with a dry sear. After I got it set up I put some clp on the sear and then readjusted the pull weight to about 2.75 and put it back together.

So the question is do you guys run the sear dry or keep it lubed? and why dry or not?

All I've read on the ARs recommend a lubed sear so why not on a bolt gun?

I flush my triggers out with lighter fluid, thats all. I dont use oil or grease as it may melt down into the trigger group and crud up. Has been working fine for me so far (couple of years)
