Got my M5 scale back from Scott. I am extremely pleased with it, it is grain sensitive. Got a couple other scales that will be going in the mail to him for sure.

Below is a video of the scale be checked. Using one hand to place the weight on the scale does not make it easy to maintain consistency.

The next video shows the sensitivity and accuracy of it! With the Target Master powder trickler and this scale I get +/- .02 grain from my intended weight every time!

The second charge that was heavy in this video was because I bumper the Pipette and a few granules of powder added to the pan by accident! No, it was actually my fault. However, holding the camera and doing this was not the easiest thing.

I charged 50 223's at 25gr of RE15. Only 4 charges was high 25.02gr and 3 low 24.98gr.

Thanks Scott for tuning this scale and Allan in the UK for a great powder trickler.

I may have to have Mr Parker tune my 18 dollar M5 scale, it would be nice to have a good back up for my Promethues

Worth every penny 427!

Its $51 for him to do it and that includes him shipping it back flat rate to you.

$91 for two scales! Great guy to deal with! He turned mine around in a day!

sausponte,
could you tell me where I could get a pipette/ from/ and is it glass or plastic?
Thanks

Re: Lyman M5 Scale tuned by Scott Parker

The one shown on my TargetMaster is Plastic! I happened to have a ID that allowed for a press fit onto the trickler tube without any adhesive or shrink tubing.

However, with plastic there is static! I have some glass that is .265" O.D. with a .080" opening at the end. If I could get a clean cut around the glass allow only maybe a inch of length I would switch the plastic for the glass. All I would do is use electrical shrink tubing to attach it to the main trickler tube! I tried scoring and snapping one but was not successful.

Plastic ones.

Glass!

IF you have trouble finding one PM me and I will help you out!

When I clean the pivot points in my Redding scale I can reliably hit 0.03 gr.
