Does anyone know where I could get this done. I've there are some really good online shops that do excellent work but I've only come across 1 and it seemed a bit unprofessional. There was one I found a while back that had a pretty good looking website but I can't find it again to save my life. I have a xdm 5.25 40 bitone and I want my 40 pro series to match it. Having a bit of fun dual wielding.

Any good Cerakote applicator can do that.

NIC Industries has an applicator search tool and their photo gallery has links to the applicators whos work is displayed.

Re: M&P 40 pro blasted?

Xris,

Not sure what you meant by "blasted" ??

I wouldnt recommend just blasting off the finish on the slide to get the perceived color you are looking for.

As far as "coating" it comes down to choice of colors and what you are trying to match.

If its just a silver finish you are looking for, then there are several good options from Robar's NP3 Teflon infused electrolyss nickel to Nickel Boron like Fail Zero, etc. Or, as mentioned in a prior post Cerakote has a range of colors possible ro get a more precise match.

Below is a Kimber 1911 with a Cerakote Satin-Mag slide and Graphite Black frame and below that an M&P done in Mil-Spec Green and Black. You should be able to visualize what the 1911 colors would look like on the M&P.

Hope this helps a bit and gives you some ideas of whats possible.

Any local machine shop worth their salt has a bead blaster, and I am sure they wouldn't charge you 60$ bucks to blast it either.
P.S. nice gloves.

Ok sweet. I'll check with my local gunsmith. He is a machinist also. Thanks for the compliment on the gloves. They are so comfortable and durable.
