M1 Garand Bayonet Info Needed!

I have a '42 springfield Garand, (which was my first gun by the way!) And i finally picked up a bayonet for it. However it is missing the internal parts that hold it on the bayo lug. Does anyone know where i could get the button, springs, and clip? Also, it is stamped AFH and under that, US. There is an H stamped on the hilt of the bayonet. Does anyone know what manufacture it is and what year it was made? Any other misc. info? The blade has a cool nick in it, maybe caused by some marine battling with some German.

It is a M1942 Bayonet manufactured by American Fork and Hoe cut down to 10" from the original 16".

Good luck getting parts for it... try Sarco or Gunpartscorp.com. Ebay might be easier to get the parts... they were hard to get years ago as well.

PS: Referencing TM 9-1270, you need the following parts:

Catch B-147059

Spring B-147063

Catch B-147058

Most folks find parts off donor bayonets.

Yup, Gunpartscorp has the parts you need in a set... they are repro parts but will do the job.

Post an ad on the CMP wtb forums for the parts you are looking for. The CMP within the last two years sold boxes of scrap bayonets that could be broken down into usable parts. Im sure guys on that forum will have what you need, USGI original.

You could also buy a functional bayonet through the CMP.
