Has anyone tried any of the M118LR being sold by Green Country Ammo? Based on the price I assumed it was reloaded from pulled components, or factory seconds, but they claim it's straight from Lake City, and not rejects.

I was shopping for some cheaper ammo for practicing basics at the local 400 yard range, and figured even if this is junk, it'll work for now. So I ordered a batch. The LC brass will at least do me well reloading at the very least....

Received my box, figured I'd give an initial report if anyone else was considering trying it out.

It's what I expected for cheap bulk surplus ammo. Mix of LC 18 LR and LC 19 LR stamps, about 50/50 exactly. Shipped loose in a box. Light scuffs and tarnish on most, nothing major. Some of the tips had some tiny dings. Only two didn't pass my inspection, one had a dent that would probably shoot OK anyway, the other was noticeably bent with a very loose bullet. Pulled that one to check the powder out.

I'm sure this wont come anywhere close to FGMM, or likely be consistent enough for any real serious shooting. Came out to 65cents a round due to the sale when I ordered, at that price I'm happy. Will suit me just fine for having fun practicing at the range, and will leave me with some nice brass to reload.

We'll see how it actually shoots when I get back out to a range....
