Me shooting it as almost finished on R&R. I still have to dig the front sight out of my parts bin at home. Didn't feel the need to dig through my parts for something I didn't plan on using that day anyway.
The rifle was actually very accurate before hand but I can never leave well enough alone and went ahead and rebuilt it ground up. Used a rental reamer from 4-D and almost forgot to mail the damn thing back before coming back over here.
Anyway specs are krieger barrel 18.5 medium contour.
Started as a Springfield standard with NM sights and some other NM parts as I bought it from gander mountain outside drum a few years back. This is the only thing I have ever bought in my life that I couldn't pay cash up front for. I used layaway and it was totally worth it.
Anyway back on topic. I got the Leupold used for 800 and it came with the right turret. Was a factory refurb from midwayusa of all places. The stock was back ordered for 4 months through fulton and they shipped it a week before I was to return to the states. Barrel was from the same place. If I was to do it again I would go with the 18.5 inch light weight chrome lined barrel and shot the snot out of it with steal cased ammo. youtube
The barrel was shooting better and better the more rounds I shot through it. I keep the tool for the adjustable gas plug in the stock taped down. The rifle is imensly more reliable with that adjustable plug than it was before. I have never shot reloads through it before but only because I could get cheap match ammo at the time. That will change now that I have the adjustable plug. It was shooting between 2.5-3.5 inches on the 200 yard line in that video. By the time I left it was shooting 2.5 inches consistently with 175grn FGMM 7.62x51. Ordered 400 more rounds of FGMM while over here that I plan on using to get more familiar with the rifle and then I will shoot it at some local fun matches.
