How much play is there supposed to be in the op rod/charging handle? It seems that in mine there is a little bit of wiggle and I am able to move it around slightly. Is this a big deal/problem? I feel like there needs to be a little play but not sure.

It can be pretty loose without an issue. As long as it doesn't pop out, you're good.

Pull it out and mic the tab to be sure. Measurements should be new at:
Width = .330 (-.010)
Height =.320 (-.003)
Thick = .100 (-.005)
Mine all measure between 0.092 ~ .095", I've seen thicknesses as little as 0.07" tab working fine.
