Gunsmithing M40 Bedding Material

<span style="font-weight: bold">To be correct in the original bedding on the M40, what is the material to be used and if Bisonite what color was used?
Is the original compound still available - Brownells sells Bisonite.

I have had a few different suggestions and I want to be correct about what the USMC used.

That was one of the suggestions before.

Any suggestions where to get it besides Brownells?
