Buddy has a kkm threaded barrel that his dumbass didn’t take out the set screw when he removed the comp, and trashed the threads. My question is would there be enough meat there to run a die on it, and be able to run a suppressor?

Thanks for your reply! Just what I was looking forSure, the suppressor alignment is the shoulder or barrel front, not the threads. Just cleanup the threads and if the suppressor wants to come lose put a tiny amount of blue loctite on it. The dried loctite in the threads will help the resistance fit later.
KKM barrels used with compensator may not be a typical thread pitch and often have a set screw. Might want to double check thread if not sure.
Glad you mentioned the thread pitch. Pretty sure they are 9/16x32. Which would be unusable for me since I can’t find a piston to fit thatFrom the picture it is hard to tell how much thread damage and how much threads full of thread locker. As long as threads get good bite you are good.
LRI does really good on threads. Not sure if they do pistol barrels though.Sorry, yes this is for 9mm. Kkm Glock 19 barrel
He’s out of state so I can’t see it visually but it looks like the material is all rolled over. I like the idea if it can be re threaded to 1/2x28. Only hesitancy is the cost to get it re cut. He would give me the barrel cheap, but if re cutting is pricey then I may pass on it. Any recommendations on who can do it?
KKM makes an outstanding barrel, I'm glad to see it get a second chance!I called Morgan over at class 3 machining. He said No problem to change it to 1/2x28. So going to go that route. Thanks for all the replies!!
