I’ve got a 300 blackout that really likes the Hornady subsonic hunting ammo. The problem is, the front of the bullets are to blunt and start out too low to feed. Has anyone run into this problem and figured out a mag adjustment or something else that fixes this?

Magpul makes pmags just for the 300 blackout. Not sure the exact difference is as I’ve never looked at them side by side but my 300 BO functions great with them running S&B 200 gr Subs. Think there made to address the issue your having

Those mags have more room in the front internally to deal with the larger diameter bullets. My BO ammo would bind up in a normal .223 mag. Switching to the BO specific mags solved that problem. I didn't notice if the feed lips were of different dimension. Based on the OP's description of the problem, he might see some improvement. If the ammo is binding, the follower won't be exerting the same force on the column of ammo. Worth a try, I think.
