Is the cable that attaches the "box" (to my android phone)with the Sport model just 2 male 3.5ml ends? Looking to save a couple of bucks vs their cable they sell.

Sorry I don't have a helpful answer for you... I have an MS3 but I use the Labradar now.

To connect the display to your phone you will need the XFR Adapter. It is in two parts. First, the adapter has a small electronic board in it, it will plug directly to your phone or phone adapter depending on the phone. Then the double male 3.5 millimeter phone jack cable will connect the adapter to the display. You have to have the module to connect your phone to the display, it won't work with just a cable.

Interesting. I used the V3 unit Sunday and I believe it was a straight up cable. Maybe that extra little chip/box is specific to the Sporter?

I don't have any experience whit the V3 but the their website says both versions use the XFR adapter. On my phone the display/app won't work without the XFR adapter.

Is your device Android or Apple? I thought that "box" was to plug the Apple adapter into it.

I have and Android. Moto Z3 phone which requires the USB C to 3.5 adapter which came with the phone. I just tried it on my old Google Pixel which has the 3.5 jack on the phone and it still won't work without the XFR.
