Magpul - 2025 New Maztech X4-FCS & X4-LRF

Don’t we all usually ask the vendors if the lasers we purchasing is berry or non berry? Well at least I do. And they all give an answer.

I wasn’t sure what it was and I just looked it up. It related more to textile stuff like yarn cotton etc.

Also mentioned specialty metal. Would have to look beyond google to figure it out. Could be a way for manufacturers to try to get their products by mentioning it even if it doesn’t apply?

I mean honestly, if it doesn’t matter to most if it’s berry or non berry compliant then it’s all good. For me, I always ask the manufacturer or vendor before buying any lasers. Rather we care if it’s 100 % DOD approved is all up to the buyer. I’m just laying it down to anyone who is concern if it is or not. Really it doesn’t matter.. Believe or not to believe. Let’s move on..

Why just lasers? how about scopes? is something unique about the lasers? I'm just curious. Never heard of this before so

Parts internally probably. Where was it sourced from. I mean honestly, it really doesn’t matter to some. For instance, I a few months ago I picked up a PLRF 25c x3. I know for a fact that it’s not a berry unit. Because it’s made in Switzerland. And not in the US. My son, just picked up a OGL high power. And the parts is sourced from Korea I think. But it’s a baddass unit. I believe a good support of the company is all it matters. Like if something goes wrong with the product, they are there to take care of it. For the Maztech unit, we don’t know at this point as it’s still a new product. Who knows, the whole unit might be 100% USA made. Either way, I’m in for one. But I do want to get a mil/le unit. All my lasers are high power. I just can’t do neutered lasers.. lol

For those of you interested in how the X4 LRF performs after dark:

Your videos are awesome! These included. How is setting wind on the maztech? With and without the remote? The impact is very easy to change wind with the remote but I have a moral opposition to cables and probably wouldn’t run the maztech remote so I’m curious

Very simple to set the wind, I'd say just as easy as the impact 4000. One difference I've noticed though, the Impact 4000 remembers wind direction on the compass as the unit rotates. Doesn't seem like that's case for the Maztech so you'll have to remember to make adjustments as conditions change.

I can't speak to the performance of the remote as I don't use them.

How you like the Tango 4k? Do you find the lack of environmental a big issue?
Not on the slightest. I have a kestrel 5700 elite and a calypso. Both of which connect to AB Q.

I personally really like the Tango, why I ordered a second one, but I’m always interested in new tech and I’m a sucker for gadgets.

Just got a 2k version in. Seems to be built like a tank. The screen is nice, has a LOT of information on the second view. Will try to get it to the range this weekend. Looking forward to it being integrated with AB Q.

I’m looking forward to some more reused reviews now that these are shipping. I’m struggling to decide on the 2K or 15K. Never thought I’d consider a $5K LRF value but but it is when compared to a Raptor or MARS.
Personally, the 15k is what I'll be going with. I see zero point in spending more than an Impact 4000 for a laser that does the same thing with the same down sides (905 laser that sucks in adverse conditions) vs the 15k and the ability to cut through rain/fog/humidity far better than the others. That and it's half the price of other's MARS/Raptar/anything else similar.
