Will the Magpul Ruger American stock handle 243 mags. I don't want the same situation I found with 223/300blk, that is NO working mags. If I stay with the 308 family, will they work?????

Depends on the internal length of the magazine. Since the cases are based off the same parent cartridge, they will work as long as the length is adequate.

Are you talking about the magpul hunter stock that Ruger is putting on some American rifles. I believe that they use an AI style mag. You should be good to go for 308 family of cases with that mag.

Does anyone on the board actually have a ruger 243 in a magpul stock. Sorry, I am a little "gun shy" no pun intended, after the 300 blk fiasco.
Yes. I actually have a Ruger American Predator in .243 in a Magpul Hunter stock and am using the mag that came with the hunter stock with zero issues. I tried to answer that question in the other thread, but I didn't articulate it well enough. When you buy a Magpul hunter stock made for the Ruger american it comes with bottom metal and one 5 round mag specificially designed to feed for the Rugers. It has a dark brown follower as compared to the grey followers on the standard Magpul AICS style mags.

*edit. I am using factory ammo in the .243 so have had no issues with OAL in the mag. If you reload long you will have to do your due dilligence.
