Rifle Scopes main tube size effect on FOV

I was switching back between two scopes, a 6x24x50 sfp mil dot with 1" tube (subtends at 10x, had to figure that out for myself after trying to holdover at 24x) and a 4x14x44 r grid with 30mm tube. Can't really tell a difference in FOV with both scopes at 10x. I won't be buying anything with a 1" again I don't think (also has 1/8th Moa clicks, so dialing for rim fire doesn't get me far). Question is other than amount of elevation travel what does the main tube size effect?

More erector travel/room for the guts. Other than that not a whole lot optically

A bigger tube is more rigid and gives more travel. Thats about it. Oh and yes additional weight as PP pointed out.
