Ok Well after some research Im thinking of changing my 300winmag build to a 30-06. I think that this caliber would suit me better for everything I need and would suit the barrel Im buying better. Ok let me have it. What you think. I already have my action which I will need to replace the bolt with a PTG longaction standard bolt face. I think its a good Idea.

With that limited info about your build:

Build the 300WM and buy a reloading set and light load the 300WM round to 30-06 velocities with much slower powders...keeps your action in use.

resale value is much higher on a 300 WM than a .30-06. Like they said, you can always lighten up the load that you are shooting.

There are a lot of positive sides to the 30-06 without many detraction's. Pretty good ballistics, easy to load for, great barrel life.
