Thinking about a quick gimble head tripod setup to mount a Busnell T series spotter, that won’t force me to break position in the prone too much.
I know it would be ideal to have an angled eyepiece spotting scope with a freeland stand, but I won’t be using it enough to justify the cost.
Now would a Manfrotto Evo work,or am I being too cheap?

By far the best gimbal head is the Promaster GH25K
The ProMaster Professional Gimbal Pan Kit is designed with meticulous precision for the finest glassing or photography experience. It includes two heads, which can be used separately or together. The GH25 Gimbal Head is an excellent solution for balancing your spotting scope. The PH25 Panoramic Head moves at specific rotational degrees quickly and accurately. Combine the two heads for the most precise placement of your Spotting Scope. It is also fantastic for use with a camera and long telephoto lens. All touch points are colored red so you can find them easily, even in low light.

You could also put an F class style head on your tripod down tube, this one is an Eliseo

I use a Manfrotto and couldn’t be happier. There’s nicer setups out there, yes...but for my needs, the manfrotto does everything well.
