Looking to order a Manners PRS-2.

This rig will be sort of all purpose. Prone, sitting, from a bench rest, maybe some situational PRS type shooting.

Right now, I've always run a Harris bipod.

As I get deeper into this, I realize stuff like that may change.

What options would you go with on a new Manners stock??? Sling studs, flush cups, cheek piece adjustment, and all sorts of accessories are options.

Don't know what to add as I don't know what half of them are lol.

One note, I'd like the bottom of the forend to remain flat and smooth for shooting off barricades and from a benchrest and bag.

Thanx!

The PRS1 or PRS2 are going to be great options. I opted for the PRS1 over the PRS2 because of the butthook. And the PRS1 over the T4A (which is awesome) because its new. I always put flushcups on the left side and a Badger Ordnance BAR rail on the forend (which also has a flushcup). The Adjustable cheekpiece is a must, imo. I had a McMillan without it and while it saved weight, I could never get the cheekweld right and promptly sold it. Good luck with your decision.

Here is my recent purchase. The barreled action was put together by Jeff at Rivers Bend Gun Company and the 1-9tw Bartlein barrel is chambered in 300 win mag.

Thanx for the info and pics!! Great looking rig too!!

I can see how the various rails would be nice if you're putting on/taking off/swapping bipods or whatever.

I think I will keep it somewhat "standard" with 2 studs up front, 2 flush cups on the left forearm and left butt and probably another flush cup on the bottom butt. Seems with the 2 studs I can always remove them and add various rail systems.

The adjustable cheek piece for sure. What I was looking at was their optional adjustment knob. Looks like without that, you need tools to adjust the cheekpiece.

Nothing wrong with Harris bipods. Get a sling stud up front for it. If you wanted you can get flush cups on the side for sling use if you use flush cup attachments.

I would say look hard at the Mini Chassis also. Makes dropping the barreled action in the stock so easy and give you DBM.

I like the PRS2 as I am not a fan of the button hook as i like to be able to move my bag all over the bottom of the rear of the stock smoothly but that's personal preference.

Adjustable comb comes standard on the PRS so no need to worry about that. As for the knob, you can get it if you plan to take the cheek piece off a lot or in the field but I usually only take mine off at home to clean and putting an allen to it is easy enough. Even in the field I have my fix it sticks and it's easy enough.

Here's a pic of mine on my .223 in Bloodshot camo.

Go with 2 non-rotating flush cups on the left side (assuming you're right handed), and adjustable cheek piece minimum. The adjustable length of pull spacer kit for the buttpad is nice to have if your LOP doesn't match any of the factory options.

If doing PRS shooting, you're going to want an arca rail attachment on the bottom of the fore end so get some sort of Atlas rail so the screws are already predrilled and you can use those for mounting an arca rail when you buy one.

I like to run the arca rail system on mine I have several t4-a’s with the arca rail. I like the adjustability to move items wherever I need and feel fit. I have it with the barricade block which I feel is a nice option. The only thing with it is you would need to get the correct mounts for whatever bipod and other accessories you plan on using.

Thanx all! I appreciate the info!

New to the game so need some guidance.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I wanna get into the long range game...but don't want a rifle that limits me to a specific style of shooting. I have numerous hobbies and work full time so loading and shooting more than 1 rig isn't really feasible at the moment. I don't plan to compete in anything too serious...if at all for a while.

Just always wanted to learn to shoot long range and now have access to a 1000+yd range. Can't learn if I don't start shooting!

There is not a need for Arca so you can always add it later if you felt the need but from what you mentioned I doubt you will for a while. Save the money for now.

Just began playing around with a MCS-TA that I received a while ago.

The mini-chassis is great IMO. I got the barricade option for the sole purpose of replacing the barricade stop with a RRS ARCA rail.. it's pure awesome and fits like a glove.

As for the front, I had them install an Atlas rail. Only downside to that is they use 10-32 screws to attach it, but the ARCA rail i'd like to put up front uses 1/4-20 screws.. so will require a little modding. Prefer the 1/4-20 screws are they are quite a bit beefier.

But could likely get away with using 10-32 on the ARCA rail as well.. we'll see.
