I recently picked up a Defiance Ruckus and would like to use it in a Manners PRS2 w/ mini chassis that was inletted for a Surgeon 591. Obviously, the action port is longer on the defiance…so how would you guys address it?

-Leave it alone? Will it have an negative impact on ejection?
-Hit it with a dremel? Does it need to be sealed after?
-Send it back to Manners? Trying to avoid this option since I am currently stationed in Hawaii and shipping is expensive.

Try it and see if it catches brass on ejection. I hate doing it but I’ve taken the Dremel to a couple manners for the ejection port or side bolt release. I know manners sells little jars of paint to touch up those areas. I’ve always just used a sharpie. Just up to personal preference and how OCD you are.

I had my PRS2 sorted by the smith while the action was in getting a barrel spun up, but the way I would tackle it would be with some jewellers files. A round one for the end contour and flat to take out the material between.
