I love the Macmillan A5 stock,I just wish they would make a version without the butt hook. The Manners T2 looks a lot like an A5 without the hook,I was wondering if anyone that has handled both the A5 and the T2 could compare these 2 stocks.
It’s my favorit stock hands down. I have a T6A right now on my surgeon only because I couldn’t get my hands on one in any reasonable amount of time. I had an A5 a while back and I liked the manners much more mainly because of the shape of aft end of the Stock hence why I settled for a T6 as my next best choice

I have a T2A and love it. I had my Bighorn TL2 in another manufacturer's chassis system and I just didn't care much for it shooting and ergonomics wise. I guess I'm just an old fart and prefer good old fiberglass stocks and simplicity. I did look at the A5 and one of the reasons I went with the T2A was the lack of hook. Don't get me wrong, both are great stocks and you'd be very happy with either one. I ordered the T2A with the Surgeon DBM bottom metal prep and pillars installed by Manners. Saved me a lot of screwing around and Manners price for the installed pillars was quite reasonable. The Surgeon bottom metal dropped right in and fit nicely. IIRC, I didn't even have to fit the action screws.
I like the wider forend especially with a heavy rifle like mine. Just feels a little more balanced in the hand to me. I like the angled back end over the but hook as I can manipulate the muzzle angle with a bag easier by rolling it fore or aft rather than squeezing it etc..
You've gotten the differences in the forend above so I will add that, while the grip angle feels about the same, the palm swell is larger/wider on the Manners T2A than the McMillans.
