My son just picked up a Marlin model 7000 .22 semi auto with a bull barrel that looks brand new. I am not familiar with this rifle. The barrel is definitely not free floated in the factory plastic stock. Anyone have suggestions on how to accurize this thing?

It's a great rifle, very accurate.

I free floated the barrel in the factory stock and the 25 yard results are below.

Shot great but I didn't like the feel of the small stock so I replaced it with a Boyd's Rimfire Hunter. I had my gunsmith tap the barrel for Tech Sights for Apple Seed.

Last time out I was shooting empty .22 hulls at 50 yards with a Mueller target scope and got bored with it because I hit them just about every time.
