Marlin 925

Re: Marlin 925

Why not just strip the finish on the wood stock and paint that camo?

Just a thought.

Re: Marlin 925

Or don't strip the finish and just paint over it. It will take paint just fine. A black stock will gain you nothing, unless you like the feel of hollow platic.

This is done right over the original finish. Ultra flat paints (krylon camo) would do even better.

Re: Marlin 925

Its just I like the wood finish, I dont want to ruin it. I want a different stock that I can paint camo.

Re: Marlin 925

there's only a few places online i've found replacement stocks, say to substitute a syn for wood. did you ever think about stripping the finish, and then refinishing using 2 or 3 different colored stains to give it a tiger stripe camo effect? i have a picture lying around somewhere of one i did a few years ago, if i find it i'll post it for you

try contacting marlin, they could hook you up with a "spare" stock.

Re: Marlin 925

you can call Marlin directly and order a stock. They are in North Haven, CT. I have just walked in and bought parts from them in the past.
